I found a great link for anyone with lots of student loan debt (ummm… me). This page talks about loan forgiveness; many of these methods (the Peace Corps, the National Guard) aren’t practical options for me, but I could imagine teaching in one of their programs once I’m back in the United States. I found this link through another good basic article on Yahoo’s homepage.
I was in the Carnival of Debt Management Sunday, at Credit Card Lowdown, with my post on Getting Paid For Blogging. I’m still not quite clear on how to best maximize my SmallCents earning potential- you can look forward to a few more posts on this subject as I try to figure it out!* In this carnival I read and really appreciated The Butler Project’s post on stuff. I’m a marketer’s dream; when I look at catalogs or advertising I immediately start planning and scheming. Posts like this help bring me back to reality.
I was in the Carnival of Debt Reduction at No Credit Needed on Monday, with my post Make It Last. I particularly enjoyed this post at Thrifty Florida Mama. My kids are going to start needing an allowance soon, and the post and subsequent comments were really interesting. She also has a good post up on what she’s willing to do to have a frugal lifestyle. 37! I only had 25… I need to get busy expanding my list!
Also on Monday, The Baglady hosted the Carnival of Personal Finance and included my post on my Sudden Windfall. This was the homeless edition, and my newfound emergency fund is one extra step to help keep me from precarity. There was a great post as an editor’s pick, on speaking foreign languages, at The Personal Financier, although I would argue that the ability to speak a foreign language in and of itself does not make you an intellectual.
* I found a good post on How To Grow A New Blog Efficiently at Blogthority. As I’m trying to grow SmallCents, I really appreciated this advice. I’m concentrating on leaving good comments on other blogs, participating in carnivals, especially the biggies, and networking with other bloggers.

Thanks for all the great links. I always enjoy the opportunity to check out new blogs.
I do too, and I like doing it on Saturdays when I have (a bit) more time to read them!
