We go home tomorrow, in less than twenty hours. I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, I am looking forward to being chez moi, in my own home, amongst my own things. On the other hand, I am very sad to be leaving the United States and going back to France. I had wanted to try and extend my stay, but after crunching the numbers my husband and I decided it was not financially feasible. Now more than ever, we have been brainstorming how to make moving to the United States a possibility.
You might have noticed (ahem) that I’ve been a bit behind on updating our daily spending tally. I admit it- we’ve been a bit over our self imposed daily limit of $50. I’m not sure how much, as, well, I haven’t really been keeping track. I’ll provide a full update a few days after we get home, when I have time to check our bank accounts on line. I have to wait to check on line, because some of the receipts have gone missing… not very assiduous at all, I admit it!
I have a lot of great posts in the pipeline: observations on our spending, returning to America after two and a half years away, spending and saving in a consumer society, the current financial crises, what it’s like reuniting with old friends and many more. I hope that you’ve been enjoying the great guest posts that have been up over the past month; I certainly enjoyed reading them.
So for now it’s back to trying to cram all our purchases into our suitcases. We’ll be back to regularly scheduled programming on Saturday!

I'm really interested to hear about your experiences being back in the land of consumerism. And, I have to admit, I'm really glad you're coming home! It's been a quiet month around here without you guys.
