Carnivals, Festivals and Link Love

by Kelly on May 10, 2008

I was part of the Festival of Frugality at Frugal For Life with my post on used baby clothes.

We’re already on the third Carnival of Snowflaking, and this week it was hosted by Antishay. My post It’s Only Money received some friendly encouragement from Shanti, a fellow Seattleite. Next week’s carnival will be hosted by Foxie’s Ferrari Dream. The week after will be here, hosted by yours truly! Get your snowflaking stories in now.

I loved My Daily Dollars post on her five budget busters. I love her blog, and have been enjoying reading it since I discovered it a few weeks ago.

This is another good post, part of a series on creating a business plan from Banker Girl.

The post Wanting To Be A Professional Blogger Is OK was quite thought provoking. I originally started My Small Cents as a way to keep myself accountable and to help myself reach my goals. One of those goals was/is debt reduction; it seems reasonable to try and make some money off the site. On the other hand, I’ve discovered that My Small Cents has really evolved from its original purpose. I am adoring learning about something I never would have dreamed would interest me: websites and technical stuff. Who knew I was a techno-geek at heart? Not me, that’s for sure.

If you don’t have hours of spare time, do not go to this site; it’s incredibly addictive! My stepmother first told me about it. If you can picture a little cardigan-clad librarian lady in big red glasses trying to use the computer than you have a pretty accurate image of my Wicked Stepmother (as she calls herself). That she goes to FreeRice every day clues you in to its lure.
