I set the timer for ten minutes and we race around the house trying to pick up as much as we can and put it away. It's fun (we're a little competitive) and the kids know it doesn't take very long. If I'm stuck waiting, I just pull a slip out and do it. It's usually something small like filing recipies but that way it gets done.
