First, I used an 800 ml (about 3 1/3 cup) microwave-safe plastic storage container instead of a coffee mug to minimise spillage.
Second, I used melted butter instead of oil, because it&#039;s tastier.
Third, I didn&#039;t have any vanilla extract, so I chopped up half a vanilla bean.  (For those who don&#039;t know, vanilla is added to take away the &quot;eggy&quot; taste in cakes and cookies that call for eggs.)
Cooked it, topped it with clotted cream, and ate it.  Well, half of it.  It&#039;s really too much for one person. I think that mixing the dry ingredients into a holiday mug, with instructions for adding the milk, oil and egg would make a cute small gift for office/class mates.
