Holidays *by Hand*

I’m so excited to be announcing a joint project that I’m collaborating on with five other life bloggers.

Holidays *by hand* is the brainchild of Ann from One Bag Nation and Vintage Mommy. She had the brilliant idea of launching a craft carnival, highlighting handmade crafts for the holidays.

The carnival will be held for six weeks, each week a different theme and hosted by a different blogger. The six themes begin on November 4th at Simple Mom with Sewing, then November 11th is paper crafts at Small Notebook, November 18th is ribbons, thread and embroidery here at Almost Frugal, One of Three is hosting knitting on November 25th, Gidget Goes Home is quilting holiday projects on December 2nd and Ann of the aforementioned inspiration is wrapping it all up with food on December 9th.

The host blogger will present a project in her theme as well as a collection of links to other craft projects. And you! We’d be delighted if you would play along. If you have a craft that you would like to contribute, please contact the appropriate person from the schedule.

I think this project is a perfect example of how networking and building relationships with your peers can really pay off. We’re a motley but talented bunch (I’m motley, they’re talented!). I’ll be posting holiday crafts on Wednesday and Friday as part of my contribution to Holidays *by hand* so stay tuned, or better yet subscribed, so as not to miss a thing!

What a great idea! I really look forward to seeing your ideas. I will definitely be adding a link to your posts on my site. As a frugal person, and also a sewer, I can't wait to see what all of your handmade crafts will be!

@Cheryl,

If you have a project that you think would fit into one of these categories, don't hesitate to submit it to the appropriate person through her email address above!

As a wannabe crafter (I have a sewing machine, but I live in fear of stitching myself to death), I’m looking forward to your Carnival. I hope at least one of the projects featured will be for us novices.

This is a great idea! I’ll definitely be following along. I’m only sorry you don’t have a category to which I can submit my crafts–homemade bath products.
