Most of the time the residual heat is enough to finish the cooking process. I also cook rice by adding it to boiling water and then turning off the heat. It doesn&#039;t need to boil at all to get done, just wait for however long your particular type of rice should cook and all the water should&#039;ve been soaked up and your rice should be finished. Never heard this about pasta but will certainly try this out, if it works with rice why shouldn&#039;t it work with pasta! A solar oven sounds interesting.
