Brown hamburger/ add onions to it along with chunks of potatoes..smaller for quicker dinner/add water so potatoes will cook and make a gravy of sorts/salt-pepper and put a lid on until potatoes are done. It's a favorite from my childhood. Put hamburger patty on plate, top with mashed potatoes and top that with the onion gravy. And, yes, serve with green beans. I do it without milk, though, since my little one only drinks soy. I feel like I haven't been here in ages! I love the new format. I've done something very similar, basically making sausage gravy with ground beef instead and serving it over noodles, biscuits or rice. A comfort food at our house during the cold weather. My mom used to do a version of this with ground beef patties; I think she called it poor man's stroganoff or something like that. She got her recipe from my dad's mom in the 40's. Have you ever made homemade rice-a-roni and then added cooked ground beef to it?
