In France, unlike in the US, all the kids go back to school on the same day, la Rentrée, which is also when everything else goes back to normal. While the month of August in general is pretty slow, last week and next week are the hight of the vacation period here. My kids are still young enough to be excited both about summer lasting seemingly forever and about going back to school. Those were the days!
