Cleaning an empty house is so much easier than a full house. So I clean the new place from top to bottom and when the old place is empty, I clean that one from top to bottom and leave. What a way to Spring clean. While I dont mind moving often ( my husband was military for years), I wouldnt like to do it every Spring. I look at it as an opportunity to get my whole life organized.

I love to move!! I know, call me crazy! I love de-junking! I tend to disagree, though, with buying lots of storage bins or boxes, as it will inevitably invite more stuff into your life. I have a simple rule: if I don't have a place (whether it be a cabinet, drawer or shelf) for something already, I either don't buy it or I get rid of something else to make room for it.

You can use it as a way to tell what stuff you use or need. If you box something up and find yourself not using or even thinking about for a number of months, then you can safely get rid of those things without worrying about missing them.
And the best thing is, they're already boxed up and ready to go!

There is so much involved and costs involved unless you do everything yourself. But things are heavy and fragile and sometimes it may be worth to spend the money to move more expensive heavy items.

Moving is a pain and there is no way around it. Instead of organizing, I need to just do a clean out of all my closets & storage space. And then get organized.
