“It takes as much energy to wish as it does to plan.” ? Eleanor Roosevelt
I know I wish for a lot of things (I love playing the ‘If I won the lottery, what would I do?’ game), but planning has helped me achieve some big things in my life, like going back to graduate school and having the costs covered nearly 75% by grants. It was a two year process, but well worth it.
Other times, I’ve been successful without planning one little bit. Take Almost Frugal, for example. I’m very pleased with how much it has grown over the past two and a half years. Don’t get me wrong, it’s been a lot of hard work, but there hasn’t been a whole lot of longterm planning involved.
What do you think? In your life, what are some things that wishing has helped to happen and what are some things that have come about thanks to planning?

You know, planning has been pretty good at biting me in the keister lately – I think I'll go back to wishing. 🙂
Our only plan right now is Disney in 2 years. We have a special account at the bank for it, which we're filling by saving our loose change and other extra money that comes in. We'll keep you posted how that's going.
