We’ve been besieged by flies this last week- it seems like they’re everywhere! They’re not particularly big, but they are annoying. Luckily my kids have been having fun chasing, trapping and releasing them (although I have a sneaking suspicion they just come back).
We don’t have screens on our windows (nor can we install them), so prevention is not the cure. Does anybody have any frugal, environmentally (kid) friendly tricks to get rid of the little buggers?
Meanwhile, on to our favorite links for the week:

I had the same problem last summer, especially with the little fruit flies! I made lots of traps, too…. bowls of sweets with plastic wrap on top and a decent amount of water drowned the buggers. that seemed to work the best! i do have an AWESOME bug spray i found at Sprouts called Bugs R Gone. Totally safe around food & kiddos and it WORKS. (oxymoron typically, right!?) Hope that helps! Thanks for the links!!
If you hang plastic bags (or glass jars) from your doors (or any entrance) the light refractions confuse the flies and they won’t come in.
I use good old fly paper.
My husband refuses- he hates the stuff!
