What’s for Dinner?

in thoughts on cooking, thoughts on food

I’ve worked all day today, and tonight I have a late class. So dinner is likely to be in three parts- whatever I can wolf down before my French class starts, whatever my husband manages to feed to kids (probably hamburger patties, green beans and macaroni and cheese) and whatever leftovers I can scrounge when I get home, followed by a large chaser of red wine.

And you? What’s for your dinner tonight? Did you plan it in advance? Just start thinking about it now? Plan to eat it on the go?

I just started thinking about what I would have for dinner this morning. I am making homemade chicken noodle soup. I try to make up a menu plan before I go grocery shopping, however I usually end up buying the ingredients and then making things that aren’t on the menu plan. Yup…I pretty much go through life planning things out and then doing something totally different, lol.

My husband, the cook, is sick. Now I don’t know what to do for dinner. It should be yummy, nutritious, etc. And I don’t cook very well. I’m looking through the cupboards to see what I can find!

Dinner was out for me last night. Thai food at a fabulous place called ZenZero. Tonight we’ll be home and I’m making beef & bean enchiladas with seasoned rice, tortilla chips & guac. Yummy.

We desperately needed a quick but home-cooked meal and decided on a pot roast – it was a success thanks to McCormick!
